About Altai Mountains

Altai mountains are a mountain range in territory of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia. The origin of Altai is in Old Turkic Language. In Old Turkic language, it is called as Alytau, Aly means “Golden” and Tau means “Mountain”.

For us, Kazakhs, The Altai mountains are sacred mountains, because Altai mountains is birthplace of Turkic people, who are our ancestors.
